Melba Briscoe Skateboard Park

Open year round for kids of all ages to perfect their skills on skateboards, bicycles, etc.

Located at the corner of West Admire & 8th Street.

Melba and Lenard Briscoe noticed that kids were riding their skateboards on downtown sidewalks, on streets and in parking lots and realized there needed to be a place where kids could try out their skills in a safe location.  They met with City leaders and a board was formed to look into building a skateboard park.  They included some of the kids on that board and got their input on what was needed and would work.  The Briscoes donated the funds to build the Skateboard Park and the rest is history.
